Go ahead and read the excerpt of Marcia Talley’s book, Last Refuge, and see if you can resist buying it and reading it to the end.
I know I couldn’t, but then again, I love Marcia Talley — both in print and in person. I’m lucky to see her so often at my writer’s meetings. The woman is a veritable imp — with a mischievous smile, twinkling eyes, and more energy than any famous pink bunny. She’s funny, dedicated to her friends, and incredibly kind.
Join me as I interview Marcia — I promise you’ll come away with interesting facts and a ton of laughs. Leave a comment below or tell us who your favorite historical or mystery character is, and you may win a copy of Marcia Talley’s book, Last Refuge. Let your friends know, too. We won’t be drawing a winner until Friday!
Last Refuge is available now and her upcoming book, Dark Passage, will be out on September 1st.

You’re entered, Marilyn!
Thank you Diana!
Thanks for the interview, Marcia and Diana! You’re right, Diana, I enjoyed the excerpt and look forward to reading more of Marcia’s work. I also enjoyed visiting her website!
She’s a real sweetie, Susan. Glad you could stop by!
Diana, thanks so much for the interview! I think we managed pretty well, even with the noise of hotel staff schlepping chairs in the background!
Who can concentrate on anything but you, Marcia? Thanks so much for letting me capture you on video.
Big hugs!
It was a blast! Thanks.
I always enjoy hearing about what Marcia is doing and how she gets her ideas. It’s fascinating. I’ll have to visit her website soon. thanks.
Yes, fascinating is another great word for Marcia!
Marcia is a fascinating author, and an equally fascinating person. It’s always great to hear more from her.
Ooops, see above. I agree entirely. Thanks for visiting!
I love Marcia’s books. Can’t wait to read this one. Happy ! Happy!
Oh, it’s so good, Megen. You’ll love it.
Great interview. I was lucky enough to be in Marcia’s critique group while she wrote the historical Annapolis mystery. It’s a great book. Now that I’ve moved away, I feel deprived to have missed out on manuscript chapters of DARK PASSAGE!
Well, lucky you to have been there for at least some time (can you tell I’m green with envy? Grin) , but I can imagine you must be in critique group withdrawal, Sasscer. See what happens when you move away from all the folk who love you? I can say that since I’m one of them. LOL. Hope you’re enjoying your new home and thanks for visiting today. Please come back, soon!
Marcia, as always, you did a beautiful job! Can’t wait to read your next book!
I can’t wait for Dark Passage, either, Susan. Thanks for commenting!
YOu both are terrific..how wonderful! ANd my favorite mystery “character”–is Marcia Talley! Because she’s quite a character, right? xoo
What a perfect response, Hank! And how sweet of you to say such nice things.

Dahling! I’m getting on the Dark Passage list today. How I love your books! You can’t write them fast enough!
Writing as fast as I can … with grandchildren in the house! Camp Grandma is in session … and the pool is closed for repairs. Unfair!
If anyone can do it, you can, Marcia! Barbara, thanks for stopping by.
I totally recommend ALL of Marcia’s books!
Me too! So glad great minds think alike, Molly.
My favorite mystery character is Laurie King’s Mary Russell, though I have enjoyed your books for a long time.. As historical characters go, I would have to say Rosalind Franklin is my heroine.
Oh, if you love Laurie King, Rachel, please check back. She will be my video guest at a date soon to be scheduled. I agree that I love a book that starts with heroine tripping over Sherlock Holmes quite literally. LOL.
A fun interview – just like Marcia’s books!
Aw shucks. To even be compared is quite the honor, Mary Ellen.
And the winner of Marcia Talley’s wonderful book, Last Refuge is: Rachel Mustain! Rachel, please email me through the contact page within ten days with your contact information in order to qualify for the prize.
For everyone else, I’ll be having book prizes most weeks, so please check back regularly.
Yay, Rachel! As soon as Diana sends me your snail mail information, I’ll get the book right out to you!
